September 12, 2005Mad about stripesSomething told me I should probably finish my Navigator that is currently in progress before I start another, but I guess that something just didn't put up a strong enough case. I thought I was finished but I found some missed (most likely ignored) ends to weave in. Well, mini has requested a stripey number of her own and since I stalled out on a few knits for her lately, I decided to get right on this one, Navigator No. 2. And though I love the white on black stripes of my initial Navigator, I still long for a nautical representation that a blue on white would clearly be. So there we have it, Navigator No. 3. ~more navigators mean more cotton-ease (l to r): bubble gum, sugar plum, vanilla, and blueberry~
Now carrying the yarn up the sides does help out a lot, but I still have many ends to weave. Mad about stripes...or just plain mad, lol.

Oooh, Froggy - carrying yarn up the side is so smart! And I can't wait to see you and Mini posing with your Navigators together!! Posted by: Anne-Caroline at September 13, 2005 08:41 AMSmart smart... I can't wait to see them! Posted by: Dani at September 13, 2005 04:05 PMIt is a great idea, and you certainly need it if you're knitting THREE navigators. By the way, do you have a secret cotton-ease cache? Posted by: pioggia at September 14, 2005 07:15 PMI love your classic version, but Mini's is tres chic. The girl knows her colors ;-) Posted by: Niki at September 14, 2005 09:29 PMI loooove the pink combo...and I'm looking forward to seeing it when the sweater is done =) have a great weekend, Almost twinkies! What fun! HE HE HE You are doing such a smash-up job on all three navigators froggy!! I recently completed a pillow using the carry the yarn up the side method. It really makes for an orderly wrong side me thinks! Hope you are enjoying a really great weekend. Posted by: Maggie at September 18, 2005 09:02 AMWoo hoo! Thank you for the shout-out, Miss Froggy.
