~eucalan no rinse wash~
While sitting at work I spilled coffee all down the front of my favorite sweater. Missed my mouth completely. And that would be coffee complete with hazelnut creme, milk and sugar. Okay so it's really syrup, but you get the picture.
As I slowly look down reaching for a Kleenex and trying not to make it run even further down my sweater, I notice that it really just sitting on top of the seed stitch not really being absorbed in. I lightly and I mean lightly dab on it a bit and notice that it is being completely absorbed by the Kleenex. I go to the next spot and the next spot and the next spot...ok I won't take you through every spot, but I tell you there was a lot of coffee there and every spot came up not leaving a hint of coffee. I was amazed. Another reason to run out and buy another bottle for sure. And yes, I had to tell everyone that passed my office within the next few minutes (some found it interesting and others, you know). But my 3 minute game of "where are the coffee spots?" was quite entertaining (yes, i'm easily amused).

~favorite sweater less 10 minutes after arriving home~
So why may you ask did I have to make a mad rush to throw it in a bath less than 10 minutes after I got home. Because when I got home (while telling someone about my sweater that survived a coffee shower), I ironically spilled a boatload of marinade down the sleeve of my sweater while transferring some salmon into a baking dish. Now I love the smell of white wine and all of my favorite spices, but I really don't want to transfer to all my furniture and things, nor do I think others would share my love of that fragrance for long.
Irony...is it really funny or am I just settling for laughter, lol?

Yikes - that was a close one! I'm glad you were able to rescue that gorgeous seed stitch sweater.
Sounds like you had better be very careful when wearing that sweater. It's accident prone.
Sounds like one of my days :). I will have to buy some of that eucalan wash! I'm sold!
Thanks for the tip, it's almost too good to be true. I have to try it!
Oh I will have to remember that stuff!
Amanda
that could have been bad, man.Imagine how much that would have sucked if you couldnt get the coffee out of that sweater?
Oh ya poor thing! Thought you had it made there with the kleenex, huh? Mmmmm, salmon sounds really good right now.....
Hey, blog fodder. And the sweater is safe.
;-)
I don't think we can find it in France. Pity, otherwise, I'd know some people who would be interested... well, I suppose it wouldn't work with chocolate.
Atta girl! That's the best attitude to have, without question. Yummy green, too :-)
Now I feel like scotchguarding ALL my clothes. And my couch, and carpet...
(We're a little spill-crazy here. Hee!)
I know Eucalan, we can't find it in France but I order it from Elann and I love it !
I've unfortunately missed your previous post but I find the bunny's eyes so expressive, he's very cute !! I think he needs no mouth with eyes like that ! And Mini is a darling !
Oh I HATE when I totally miss my mouth and pour the beverage down the front of my clothes. You'd think at this point in my life I would remember how to drink.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
How scary! I'm so glad your coffee didn't stain! Thanks for the tip on washing...
Close call! I've never used Eucalan before, but I'll check it out now!
That Scotchgard sounds like quite the purchase!! I'm going to have to shop around and try to find some of that.
That must be one hungry sweater! First coffee, then salmon...what will be next?!?! (LOL)
Must be that eucalan! Good stuff that is!
Hey, stop starving your sweaters for goodness sakes! :)
Lol! I almost spilled my coffee on my keyboard reading! It's definitely funny...this is exactly the kind of day I would have. I'll have to remember to Eucalan my sweaters before first wearing! You think it works on laptops?
Wow, are we related? I spent a good chunk yesterday trying to cover up/rinse out my spills. Oof... some days are not so good on the coordination front. But wow, thanks for the Eucalan tip! I think it will be my new best friend.
I did not know that about Eucalan...sweet!
Hmmm. . . remind me not to sit too close to you if we should ever meet for dinner. Or at least remind me to wear my oldest, least favorite clothing. ;-)
Oh, I'm an even bigger fan of Eucalan now. Isn't it the BEST?
Oh that is good information to have. I am the biggest klutz, but have so far managed to avoid spilling anything on knitwear. Crap, I am sure I have cursed it now! :)
