Edward Scissorsocks

not scissors, but oh so sharp

my those metals are pointy

I am now using metal 00's and talk about click clack these metals are something else, but it's creating that tighter knit that I've been lookin' for. Not nearly as difficult as I imagined to knit with. But man these things could really poke an eye out, or put a hole in a couch cushion (and yes, i know that from experience), yikes.

And I know that Edward Scissorhands reference was a stretch, but any excuse to bring up Johnny Depp and I'm all over it.

Very colorful socks! You sock knitting is inspirational...I've got a bunch of sock yarn ready to go.

I have some of that colorway sitting right here on my desk--seeing your great sock makes me realize that something needs to be done with it!

I love the pics! You are too funny.

I hope you got my email--hope to see you soon!

Now that could be handy, excuse the pun. Graft the needles onto the ends of our fingers, we'd always be ready for socks. I really must stop drinking in the evenings!

Gotta get me some of those. The wood crap I've been using just isn't cutting it. I do see some blood in my very clumsy future though.

The sock look great! Love the colors. So bright and cheery!

You know, I just don't get DPNs. That's why socks are out of the question over here. I love your stripes though - very cool..

I got some of those metals too -- they're wicked sharp! Your sock is looking great!

Posted by: Wendy at February 18, 2005 05:40 PM

Those are beautiful socks!! You don't knit them while they're on do you?? Just kidding.

Posted by: Maggie at February 18, 2005 05:57 PM

I'm afraid I'd hurt myself, or someone else. You're very brave :)

Posted by: Vicki at February 18, 2005 05:59 PM

If not Johnny Depp, how about Hugh Jackman? Wolverine! Hee hee.

(Yikes, 00's? You're going to have amazing, never-wear-out socks... very nice.)

Nice socks! Be careful with those needles now, mine have caused a few holes on my favorite love seat.

Posted by: Pioggia at February 18, 2005 06:39 PM

mmMMMMMMmmmMMMmm...Johnny Depp.

Beautiful socks. Very cool colors.

This is too weird...I just watched Edward Sissorhands today. I love that movie. Cute pics!!!

That talon picture should win some sort of prize. Next time I hear that knitting is for grandmas, I'll send them here.

;-)

very pointy points you've got there, froggy. For a minute i thought you were a new member of the x-men.

I love the colors of your socks. very nice!

I love the colourway of that sock.

I'm thinking of switching from bamboo to metal for my itty-bitty needles. What brand are you using?

And I love the colors in your sock. It's so nice to see after all the drabs of wintern. I actually have a hoodie that looks similar to that!

HAHA! You crack me up, gf. I laughed out loud when Bloglines showed the photo with the title. I hear you on the dpns; so fiddly! But I yank 'em out anyway and give credit to anyone who'll still knit with them if it'll give you good results. Go, frogster!

P.S. Funnily enough, I switched from metal to bamboo dpns and discovered that my tension evened out and the ladders were eliminated. I have control problems with metal dpns, for some reason. Me so uncoordinated.

LOL! You are too funny :o)

Posted by: amanda at February 19, 2005 08:34 AM

LOL! Very nice socks and perhaps we can entice Johnny Depp to make a sequel - Edward Knitterhands???

Posted by: chris at February 19, 2005 08:34 AM

You said Johnny...Oh yes, what a beautiful man. Have you seen Secret Window? Great flick for Johnny fans. :)

Posted by: Anne-Caroline at February 19, 2005 09:35 AM

You have pretty feet, miss froggy! Great socks!

Posted by: Jenny at February 19, 2005 09:49 AM

Oh you crack me up, Ms. Froggy Needlehands!

Posted by: amy at February 19, 2005 10:59 AM

Wow - the socks look gorgeous!

Will we be seeing pictures of Lara soon? I can't wait to see her. :)

Have a terrific weekend, and thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I always love hearing from you!

Very cool socks, hahaha lolll, your hand is very funny, it's a mixture of Freddy, Wolverine, or Edward...

Posted by: Krystine at February 20, 2005 09:12 AM

Cute! but I thought you were getting off the sock wagon - isn't this a new pair, missy?

Posted by: Julia at February 20, 2005 09:58 AM

leave it to you to make sock knitting funny like this :)

That said I dont use those long needles. Seeing them I understand why people say it would be like pick up sticks. Instead after breaking many a well gripped brittany tiny (US 2 and below) needle I got a pain of metal ones that are 4 inches long each and make by the same people that make addis.

Love happened right there :)

Love your menacing needle hand - reminds me of a Ruth Rendel short story in which a woman kills her husband using a 0000 double pointed needle through the temple. The motive you ask? The sound of her knitting bothered him and he refused to let her knit. What did he expect? Most of us knitters would go a bit nuts without our daily knit fix!

EEK! That scissorhand is so scary! I've always liked that colourway -- is it Regia or Lion Brand? Are they for you? Did you already explain this somewhere, revealing me to be a lazy blog reader? Oh dear.
