Froggy Knits

November 06, 2004

Who'd knit that?

I'd knit that!

Project Specs:
Pattern: scarfStyle by Pam Allen Turtleneck Shrug by Teva Durham
Yarn Used: 5 balls Rowan Kid Classic color 827 (juicy)
Needle Size: addi US 5's
Gauge: 20sts/4" in k3,p3 rib slightly stretched

I'm really quite pleased with how the shrug turned out. And I can't tell you how surprising it was to get such supportive comments regarding my project. And would I knit it again, yeah boy...eee! I really appreciated the words of encouragement. As it turns out, I have a halloween pic that shows my appreciation and a few words that sum it up perfectly in my opinion. Thank you. Thankyouverymuch (I could not stop laughing everytime she said it which was everytime someone gave her candy). And no, it was not a costume I chose. And I don't know where she came up with the idea, but it sure was a riot! Definitely didn't run into another kid with the same costume, lol!

Posted by: Liz at November 6, 2004 03:33 PM

Yes! Yes yes yes. I love it! You sure can rock any style (in your face, all you naysayers of the avant-garde!) and, apparently, so can your mini. :) This made my day.

I'd give up half my wool just to have been able to hear that thank-you-very-much for the candy.

Who’d knit that? Heck - I would too! That is one very cool scarf/shrug thingy! Oh my gosh, you have knit a thneed! (without the destruction of the Truffula trees, though!) Do you know the Lorax story? This totally reminds my of the thneeds. I love the orange groove you have going on lately!

Looks great on you! Fab colour, too.

Posted by: laura at November 7, 2004 01:36 PM

How cute is that? The whole thing is fabulous. Orange is kind of my new obsession for color. Have you gotten it out of your system after knitting two projects in a row in it or are you geared up for more? 'Cos your two projects in it are rockin!

The little one is so adorable. She has got her Mom's creative spark. What a great gift to give a child!

Posted by: Laurie at November 7, 2004 03:12 PM

Your FO pics are the best! What song is her favorite? "All Shook Up?" Mine is "Hard Headed Woman." teehee

Posted by: Kerstin at November 7, 2004 03:32 PM

Yep, me again. Just ordered the book. Yes, it's all your fault. ;)

Posted by: cari at November 7, 2004 03:51 PM

I think your going to start a new fad!!! Very cool and different.

Posted by: Eilene at November 7, 2004 04:47 PM

ah, Froggy, the shrug is magnificent! What a fine color. Sometimes a girl just needs some sleeves. And, um, some neck. Some sleeves and neck!
I must say, after seeing your excitement over Scarf Style, and those links to your favorites, I ran my fingers over to Amazon and bought a copy of the book for me. Christmas is gonna be all about the gift scarf!
And your lil' Elvis is mighty fine! I love her costume, and I can sense her swagger even in still form!

Posted by: peth at November 7, 2004 05:45 PM

Oh, it's just fabulous! ^_^ I'm really REALLY wanting that ScarfStyle book now! It's gorgeous, Froggy! The colour is great and it's just so cheeky and useful. The photos are so much fun!Way to go, you Badass knitter!
