Froggy Knits

Planned vs. Actual

Planned
Misty, Flo, Nellie the Sheep

Misty is waiting for me to get comfortable with the fact that I am going to have to invest in and actually knit with US 0's. Flo is getting me used to the idea of knitting on US 2's and 3's as opposed to the suggested 5's and 6's and Nelle the Sheep has completed baffled me and left me screaming for a schematic. It's such a fussy little thing and I can't seem to grasp how the little pieces are going to come together. Right now I can't even get past the first leg. I'll get it, eventually. At least that is my hope.

Actual

Flo's progress is coming along though she is desperately needs to be blocked. I've got some wonky stitches going on. I just love this wool cotton, though. This last pic is pretty true to color. It's amazing how hard this color is to photograph. I'm working on Chrissie using Rowan Big Wool Color 11 from Rowan Big Wool (13 designs by Kim Hargeaves). I can't wait to wear this cardi but it's a bit bulky to carry along with me. I am currently working on a sleeve. It's a stash busting choice to replace the other two that fell by the wayside. And I have come pretty far on Molly from Junior Knits by Debbie Bliss. Here's where she is now. She just needs some ribby cuffs and bottoms, a good blocking and she will be ret' to go. Now I just need to cast on for a good travel knit. Hmm...Which leads me to the following update:

On the sticks...
Rowan 30 Flo
Rowan Big Wool Chrissie
Junior Knits by Debbie Bliss Molly
(now that is a surprisingly small list, gotta do something about that, lol)
Waiting in the wings...
Rowan 33 Misty
Debbie Bliss Baby Style Nellie the Sheep

Wow... your WIPs all look fantastic! The colours are wonderful. I like that Molly pattern too and your Mini will look smashing in such an adorable knit.

Posting at 4:20 AM? Ouch.

Break out those 0's. It won't be bad.

I love your choices as well! I want Molly for myself! I wonder if it could be upsized. Hmm.

I love all your new projects! You'll get a hang of those itsy bitsy needles--I know you will :) Molly's such a cute sweater. I may have to follow in your footsteps and make that one.

Why not set aside the Linen Drape until Spring/Summer? All of the projects look great. I love the colors. Absolutely gorgeous.

Waht a great bunch of WIPs - that's enough to keep you smiling. I really like Flo - I might have to get on that one myself!

Thanks for your comment on my blog the other day. Your WIP's look fantastic. I particularly like the Rowan Big Wool cardigan. I bought some of that to make a rug the other day and it was very tricky to stop myself going crazy and buying a whole load of it for a chunky sweater.

You have a great list of projects, Froggy. Does it feel strange going from teeny tiny needles to honkin' huge ones? Or from skinny yarn to fat yarn? I'm currently eyeing the Big Wool myself.

These projects are BEAU-TI-FUL !!!

Hi, I'm glad to see somebody is working on Chrissy. I've been vacillating between three different coat patterns now (Cabin Fever top down coat, Hip to Knit coat in bulky yarn and the Chrissy coat from Rowan Big wool). I do like Chrissy. I'll be glad to see your progress. I made something from Lamb's pride super bulky wool as a replacement for Rowan big wool and it worked out great, but the super bulky does a lot of pilling. I'll be looking forward to your progress!

I never thought i would be a bulky yarn fan but I just LOVE big wools, in particular for chunky scarves!

I have a couple skeins of that Rowan print yarn in black and grey and it is so gorgeous that I have never been able to knit anything out of it. I just pull it out and fondle it once in a while.

I may need help.

Thank you for your comment on my blog! I like your orange sleeves, it's very funny! Sorry, i dont speak english very well...

Back on your "who'd knit that?" post : I've just joigned the scarf style knit-along, and your turtle-neck really inspires me (I'm a real Kid Classic addict...) :) It looks so funny! I want one! All the best for your different WIP's!

Hi there- love your finished and progress photos! Lots of inspiration. I've knitted Flo too- it was before I started blogging but I should really post some pics. I made it with Rowan Cotton Glace in stripes, and kind of stuffed up with the raglan decreases but didn't realise until it was finished- it looks fine (and more importantly, I love wearing it) unless it's an experienced knitter inspecting it closely!!
