Stash Reduction & Enhancements
..and all in one post

With my 'on the sticks' list getting smaller and smaller, I've decided to get swatching. I have swatched for Misty from Rowan 33 and finally got gauge on US's 2's (yikes). The pattern suggests 3.75mm (US5) and 3mm (US2/3). For the US 2/3 I think I am going to have to drop below 1's (oh my). Can I even knit with those? I don't know about this, but I'll give it a shot. I usually always go down two sizes among the typical needle project range of US6-9. I am using Linen Drape Color 852 from stash. Not only will this help me in my own personal stash reduction, it will finally get me in on the Linen-Drape along I joined a while back. I also cast on for Flo from Rowan Magazine 30 using Gazelle (a better color representation) also from stash (Aww, look at Audrey trying to get in the picture. Soon Aud, I promise.). Flo suggests needle sizes US5 and US6's. I had to go down to 2's and 3's for gauge. I'm not used to these little sticks. And if those weren't small enough I just cast on a Nellie the Sheep from Debbie Bliss Baby Style. I think this may be a fussy little knit. I just started and Nellie has already turned her back on me. This project is also in keeping with stash and is the Zoo-Along project planned for that knitalong ages ago. I'm using Rowan 4-Ply on size US 1's. I think I may have started too many itty-bitty projects. I may need to throw a big needle in the mix soon.
And for my great efforts, I rewarded myself with a couple of small projects that are on the top of my accessory knit list for the fall. I will be casting on for Clapotis very soon with Artyarns Supermerino in color 106. A pattern I love from the fabulous Kate. And then another little project using the Rowan Kid Classic in Juicy (love that color).

I have already started
working on the Kid Classic project. I'm still committed to the stash busting cause, but I don't have what I need for accessories, shawls, and a few other small things.

Looks like you're off to a good start!
I have debated about getting Juicy to make something... but seriously can I just jump in your stash and throw it around like kids do with leaves? :)
I have some Juicy sitting in the stash just waiting to be turned into the turtleneck/scarf thing on the cover of Scarf Style. Hmmm, I wonder what you're doing with yours.....
Oooh - all stuff I *really* like! I've had my eye on Flo for a while... Got some Filatura.. Zara I thought might work well for it. Love the sheep too!
Froggy, your stuff is so nice! I can't wait to see your Clapotis. :) I also love this little sheep--so cute. Love the color choice to Flow, that is a very subtle, yet very beautiful color. Good luck with all your knitting. I know it will be gorgeous like your other things :)
:D
Thanks Froggy! You're the coolest. I didn't expect to see my name when I came over to check out your new post! Have fun with all your new projects. I'm very impressed with your stash reductions. I need to get into that habit.
Okay that kid classic has me drooling. I am loving that color too...is that a rust-red? oooh.
We are in the midst of a finishing fiesta! Look at everything you have crossed off! You're my hero! I still have to tackle audrey as well...rest of the front increases and then the lace. :) so inspired!
I LOVE that clapotis scarf as well!!! The colour you've chose will be great! Can't wait to see the finished product! ^_^
Lots of fun new projects starting! I bow to you making sweaters on those teeny needles! I love your Flounce jacket too btw...came out great!
Wow, reading this post makes me feel exhausted! Lot's of fun projects in the works!
Wow, you've got so many great projects started. Isn't it so exciting starting new knits. You get to go through that lovely phase where you just love what you making for a week or two and then like always, you begin to hate it, but then you love it again, and so on...
Sorry I didn't flounce on over here sooner to tell you how absolutely amazing that jacket turned out. You are an inspiration! And I just love, love, love the flouncing photos!
Knitting from the stash! I like that. It justifies buying more yarn for later. Hee hee!
Enjoy the small gauge. When I knit with the tiny needles, I like following up with a big needle project, too.
I'm getting exhuasted looking at all your new projects. I always feel guilty if I don't finish one and then start the next. Even though I do have quite a bit of UFO's. You are the origional multitasker knitter. I envy you!! :-)
Great project line-up, as always! I can't wait to see your Misty...those are small needles, indeed!!! And I'm definitely coveting that orangey Kid Classic. I need to get some yarn in that shade now!
