Froggy Knits

September 24, 2004

I have six arms (make that five)

With Becky being such a delightful host of Sleeve Island, I've decided to go on holiday there once again. I hope I have not worn out my welcome since I have returned with an even larger number of guests, though I only made reservations for two. Here we have the sleeves of the Flounce Trimmed Jacket.

Take a closer look at what makes this jacket flounce. Then a Green Ribbed Sweater sleeve in orange. And finally the Apricot Jacket sleeves in green.

I hope to get some seaming done in the coming week, however I have come to the conclusion (as sad as this sounds) that I can only do a seam a day (I tire of seaming quickly). Any more than that and my seams start to get sloppy. I do not ever look forward to seaming no matter how excited I am about the project. So it's usually seam as you go for the most part leaving the least amount at the end along with weaving ends (a whole 'nother monster). I used to have similar feelings in regards to sleeves, but now I look forward to my visits to Sleeve Island. Now to work on throwing that famous seaming party! Now that's a partay that makes me want to seam. Now I just need to pick out a DVD.

I love the apricot jacket and the colinette sleeves, they both look good enough to eat!

Now that is quite an entourage of sleeves you brought with you! No prob - kir royals galore. As they say here: "à la tien" and "tchin, tchin!"

What a production of knits. I can't wait to see them all as finished garments, but am particularly eager to see your Apricot Jacket. The color you chose is a looker!

I can't believe how many projects you have near completion. You are so good!

Wow! Make sure you carry a heavy purse when you wear that flounce trimmed jacket. Great shot of the flounce, by the way. Thank you. It's just a beautiful art yarn. Looking forward to seeing completed item. I didn't realize the "slubs?" could be so large...either that, or you you have very tiny hands!

I admire your resolution! I'm a big sleeve procastrinator.

That flouncy jacket looks so LUSCIOUS - It's going to be so sassy when you're done. Make sure you post a pic. What yarn are you using?

You have such great taste! All things that I've been thinking about knitting. Especially the flounce jacket - it is almost too fabulous for words. Can't wait to see the finished sweaters.

The apricot jacket (or is that pear? lime?) is beautiful. Did you have problems with the pattern? I have been following Bonne Marie's frustrations with this pattern on her blog and I'm wondering if I'm up to the challenge.

You certainly are! It's lovely.

I like the theme of your site and must agree, sometimes there is more ripping going on than knitting. I absolutely love the green ribbed sweater. I like chunky yarns b/c of the speedy results.

I'm also curious about your thoughts on the Apricot Jacket. How's the pattern? Is it easy or pretty difficult? That jacket is pretty popular, can't wait to make one for myself.

Last (I know, long comment ;-) ) cute kid!
