September 07, 2004Hooray for long weekends!I can't believe it's this time of year already. Time for the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Just can't beat a weekend with face painting, harp playing, and plays going on all throughout the festival grounds. And I can't forget elephant riding. My hands were holding on for dear life as my mini screams "faster, faster" (photo came out pretty dark, but I had to show this pic). The festival was pretty close to the Folk Art Studio Cafe so I just had to swing by. I read about it over at LollyKnitting Around. I was too close not to check it out. They were having sooo much fun there, but this was as close as I got since they close at 6 and I arrived at 6:15. Bum...mer! But at least now I know where it is. What a fun bunch in those pictures. Maybe I'll be able to make it out there to knit night soon. Got a little knitting done this weekend, too. Worked on my flounce jacket. And met a friend at Starbucks and went a little further on my ASC mystery project. Not really a mystery anymore, lol.
Well, the weather this weekend was great. It was one of those with rain in the forecast that never came to fruition, but the partly cloudy skies let in the right amount of sun and kept out the right amount of rays that would make a day at the zoo a little too hot. There was a lot of monkeying around as you can see along with a froggy photo. And by the end of the long weekend we just wanted to ...... Comments
Looks like you had a great weekend! I like the colours that you have picked for your Klaralund Posted by: Dani at September 7, 2004 06:12 AMOh! It sounds like you had fun at the Ren Fest! MY DH and I went last weekend and it was so cool. I have lived in MD for several years, but it was my first time to go! Elephant ride? I missed that! :( Happy you had a good weekend! The weather is sunny even HERE, can you believe? Your mini looks so cute in her Anouk! I get to pick up my Klaralund yarn at the post office today. WooHoo!!! I love the Rebecca cardi. I just have to decide on which color of ASC to use for her. Is the sleeve pattern hard to figure out? I didn't know you live in MD. What area? :-) Posted by: Eilene at September 7, 2004 08:25 AMI'm very, very tempted by that Rebecca sweater. Nice sleeve! Posted by: claudia at September 7, 2004 09:24 AMbeautiful work on t he rebecca cardigan!!! the colour is amazing! can't wait to hear more! I grew up in Towson, and I loved the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Do they still have the enormously tall guy playing King Henry? When I was there the year Catherine Howard was Queen, I remember that he would reach over and lift her up to the proper height whenever he wanted to give her a kiss. Posted by: Lydia at September 7, 2004 11:51 AMI hereby nominate the photo of your little girl in this entry as "Cutest Girl in Cutest Matching Knit Ensemble on a Blog". And I concur with Becky, your little girl should win the "cutest girl.... etc." contest :) . simply adorable. Posted by: Monica at September 7, 2004 06:08 PMSounds like a wonderful weekend! Your colorway for Klaralund is beautiful! Posted by: Karen at September 7, 2004 08:48 PMThat was a rather startling blue frog ! Thanks for the info on the Rebecca magazine. Looks like you had "One Fine Day"...Okay I really need to stop using song titles in my comments, how cheesy. You are the second of the day. I am vowing right now to stop...("In the Name of Love"). Last one! I love, love, love the Noro colors you picked for your Klaralund. It is just going to be gorgeous. You should make the mini one too. How cute, Twinkies!
