August 16, 2004Orange you to glad to orange you mad!Orange you glad! With only one arm to go, I was quite proud of my ablility to pick up around the neck while keeping the rib pattern. Then I noticed that I didn't have much yarn left. I thought I had 2 extra balls. Hmmm. Maybe it will be close. I was carrying around a b/w photo so the detail was not so clear on the copy. I pulled out the book. Wait a minute, does the ribbing turn into stockinette stitch at the armhole? Lets find a better pic. Yep, it does. Got ahead of myself....again! This is a much better pic in the back with the german instructions. I know I shouldn't harp on the pic, but I don't think the translation ever says to change to stockinette stitch. So I had to rip the arm since I picked up and knit down. And here I am at "orange you mad", lol! I actually prefer the sweater as with the stockinette. I'll have to look back and see just where I missed the change to St. st. so that doesn't happen again (Though I know it will). For some reason, I find this hilarious at the moment. And the sweater probably won't have that Michelin-man feel to it either when I remove the ribbing from the front and back above the armholes. But that's why is always good to have other projects going. Here's my Paris Loop so far.

Oooo...I am sure that was painful to rip all that out. I am sure that it will all be worth it when you get it completed. As I said last week, I really love that pattern. I will definately keep my eyes peeled for it. I love the Paris loop too, very elegant! Posted by: Dani at August 16, 2004 02:35 PMYour stuff looks great! My favorite is the Paris Loop--beautiful! Posted by: Lauren at August 16, 2004 03:59 PMThanks for the close up of Audrey! I can see her much better now. She's looking great! I can't wait to see Alex all finished and modeled by...you! The orange Zermatt yarn looks so bright and luscious. It must be fun to work with. Ooh, I wanted to comment on those giant Addi needles before! I've never seen such things! Your poncho looks great. I really want to get in on the poncho craze as well, but I'm being picky...Alex looks really great as well. Can't wait to see it modelled. Posted by: Clara at August 16, 2004 06:14 PMWhat awesome projects! I love the red you picked for the paris loop. I wish I'd been brave enough to get the yarn on my own, then I could have picked a color I like better than the gray. I love the pattern though. And it looks great on you so far! Posted by: alison at August 16, 2004 08:05 PMYour projects look fantastic! I love the orange Zermett... colour looks great on you. And Paris Loop... mmm... very nice! Posted by: lyn at August 16, 2004 09:06 PMFabulous knitting, Froggy! You impress me to no end. And yes, you just KNOW that I am glad that you ripped back. Better to rip then stay with a project you won't be happy with. And how fabulous does your Paris Loop look???? P.S. Those 20mm needles look like LOGS. I dare you to use them in public. Hee hee! P.P.S. I see I'm not the only one who finds knitting with dpns to be like playing pick up sticks! Posted by: Becky at August 17, 2004 09:19 AMNice progress! Love it all.
