Knitting up some sunshine

check out le bouton

Mini is lovin' the toys, but she wants a sweater. I've got the yarn and the buttons in stash. Now I just have to settle on a pattern. I think I'll gather a few patterns that I hope can work with this yarn and let her pick though I feel another Miss Beas coming soon. What do you think she'll choose after she informs me that yellow is not pink? I'm hoping for a cardigan. These are a few that I'm rooting for: Doctor, Ribbon Melody, Red Maracas, Out to Play or...okay, so I'll knit anything outta those Miss Beas books. Tinkerbell, Windmill, and Ting-a-Ling are among her favorites. Can't wait to see what she chooses.

Oooh - ribbon melody and out to play are my favourites. When is she going to make her choice??

I love it when children pick the designs for me to knit from a book. Can't wait to see what Mini comes up with... Love the yarn and the buttons ;-))

Ooh, what a pretty colour. The buttons are perfect! Can't wait to see what you make.

Posted by: Adele at March 15, 2005 08:44 AM

They're all great. Kids designs look like so much fun to knit!

I know you already have the buttons, but would pink buttons go with the yellow? Would that give her her pink fix?

Love the color, so shiny! And the buttons are just perfect! I'll be back to see Mini's choice ;)!

What a lovely colour and cute buttons for Mini ! I love Doctor and Out to Play.
I'm sorry for your Clapotis, sharks are really wild beasts ;-) !

Posted by: Christine at March 15, 2005 08:56 AM

If I was Mini, I'd go for Doctor, heck if I was me I'd go for Doctor!

I like the red maracas.it would be fun embroidering the flowers on it when it was finished.

Posted by: cara at March 15, 2005 09:27 AM

Can't wait to see what Mini picks - she has great taste, just like her Mom!

Posted by: Cara at March 15, 2005 09:29 AM

Those buttons are cute! I like red maracas ... yellow maracas sound good.

I love Out to Play, I haven't seen that one before. I wonder how hard that would be to make Mommy sized?! I hadn't seen the photos of your older sweaters, the Tinkerbell dress-up shot is TOO FREAKIN CUTE!!!

Posted by: Emily at March 15, 2005 09:45 AM

What a springy color. Great idea for this time of year!

Posted by: Colleen at March 15, 2005 09:46 AM

Mini has excellent taste - I know she won't steer you wrong. In the meanwhile, would you mind knitting us some warm weather to go with the sunshine? I'm freezing over here!

I love sunshiney bright things on little girls...

So pretty!

I like the Red Maracas. Even without the flowers it would be really cute.

Posted by: stephanie at March 15, 2005 10:45 AM

I love the Ribbon Melody. Can't wait to see what she decides.

Posted by: Liz at March 15, 2005 10:57 AM

I love the happy yellow and the adorable buttons. Those are some CUTE patterns. I need to find someone little to knit for :)

Posted by: Vicki at March 15, 2005 10:58 AM

Well, you know how much I love Miss Bea's... Now I need the Seaside book too!

Ribbon Melody is sweet. It almost looks like a little Flo.

Posted by: Melanie at March 15, 2005 11:09 AM

Lovely buttons and I think I'll go along with Mélanie although it might be a bit boring to knit the same cardi even in its mini version?

Posted by: Sophie at March 15, 2005 11:48 AM

Doctor, definitely (but Who am I to choose anyway ,-)

And I think Ribbon looks like Flo, doesn't it?

Happy knitting to you!

oh, i hope she chooses ribbon melody. it's great. although I don't see any buttons in the picture. you remind me that i need to start a spring sweater for my niece.

can you embroider? what if she chooses red maracas? any choice she makes will be awesome!

Posted by: lynette at March 15, 2005 12:13 PM

what about Doctor? I think it's really cute!! Yellow is a great color for spring!

Posted by: kristelle at March 15, 2005 12:17 PM

I love yellow, although I would never wear it. That must be fun for a little girl to choose all by herself! Jolis boutons!

Posted by: Mireille at March 15, 2005 12:44 PM

Wow, I love the color of that yarn. And those buttons are adorable too!

Posted by: Andrea at March 15, 2005 01:19 PM

Nothin like nice, bright yellow to lift the mood :). Can't wait to see what mini picks.

Posted by: Lolly at March 15, 2005 01:58 PM

I hadn't seen that color in cotton ease yet. Very pretty! Can't see what she picks too.

Posted by: Karen at March 15, 2005 03:46 PM

I like "Doctor", especially the picot on the pockets.

Posted by: Pioggia at March 15, 2005 05:48 PM

Doctor looks simply cute! That's my favourite followed by Red Maracas. And those buttons are adorable! Can't wait to see her wearing it..:D

Posted by: Laura Y at March 15, 2005 08:53 PM

very cute buttons! Mini has excellent taste.

Posted by: eyeleen at March 15, 2005 10:45 PM

You are braver than I. Last time I let a little one choose which sweater she wanted I ended up knitting this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/kkeenan2/ladybug.jpg) for a gigantor (head at my clavicle gigantor) 5 year old.

good thing I love that munchkin. I am sure Mini will have great taste. Can't wait to see what she chooses!

Posted by: stinkerbell at March 16, 2005 07:15 AM

How cute, no matter what you choose I'm sure it will turn out beautiful

Posted by: Dalsee at March 16, 2005 03:01 PM

Count me in as a Ribbon Melody fan. But it's all up to Mini. Gotta love some sunshine right now!

Posted by: Denise at March 17, 2005 02:35 PM

So many good choices! And you let her pick, huh? :)

Posted by: Anne-Caroline at March 17, 2005 04:23 PM
