Froggy Knits

Windmill AGAIN!

I have definitely exceeded the amount of entries I want to have on one sweater. And its a mini sweater. I should be done already. But now the button band is just slowing me down and I really want to get into that "knit smarter, not faster club" Is there a "knit smarter and faster club", lol? All jokes aside, it's just the fear of the unknown really slowing it down. I have never done a button band so it just startitis. Maybe if I look at this pic enough I'll just do it ALREADY!

Here's a close-up. Instead of trying to measure to see how long it should be I am just knitting and seaming as I go. I never have much luck measuring things and having them fit nicely to another piece. This makes it easy and when I reach the top I don't have to seam it. Buttonholes, they're just buttonholes, right! Wait a minute. Maybe I can work it like the button holes on Anouk. Ah ha!

Also, I think I should try to get a small button stash going. I have not had a need for buttons until Kate, but I am now trying to knit more cardigans and never realized how hard it is to find buttons when you need them. I am still searching for buttons for Anouk and I guess I should add Windmill to mix, and I would like to have a few more cardies for my mini by fall.

The button band looks great. I think the approach you are taking (knitting & seaming as you go) is the best way.

And I love your Anouk! The flower is fantastic.

I love collecting buttons, I'm terrible for wandering out of stores with little paper bags full of buttons that I'm not too sure what to do with. Windmill is looking great, I love those hearts along the side of the button band..

It looks great so far - you're practically halfway plus you won't have to go back and seam it when you're done - more than halfway! Knitting smart sounds good - wish someone would publish a book about it....

This little sweater is soooo cute! Love those hearts. Great job on the button band. Hey, this isn't your linen drape project, is it? What is the yarn you're using?? Such a pretty blue.
