Froggy Knits

Hearts and flowers in blue

Made some progress on Miss Bea's windmill. Gave the short rows a go. Won't be sure exactly how well I did until I actually work the neck. Love that 3-needle bind off on the shoulders though. Much quicker than trying to seam the ladder that's for sure. The remaining neck stitches are on holders. Trying to decide whether to knit them off or bind them off which I hear makes for a sturdier neckline. Was surprised at how easy short rowing was to work. Just got slightly confused with the back. Had to wrap and turn all over the place, but I am optimistic that it will work out just fine. The shoulders ended up matching stitch for stitch so hopefully that's a good sign. Next I am going to attempt to pick up sleeves and knit down since I have the luxury of a chart when it come to reversing the increases/decreases. And then there will be the issue of the button bands. The pattern notes to pick up and knit, but I think I will knit in the same direction of the knitting and attach them so I don't have shrinking up for the body of the sweater and shrinking in for the bands.

Here take a look.

And here's one of the knitted flowers that I attached to a hat. Still trying to decide whether or not to put on on the scarf. Might require too much effort when getting mini out the door to insure flower is in view.
We'll have to see.

Froggy!
It looks great so far. Your stitches are very nice and even. What part of the pattern do you use short rows? Just curious.

See - you can do anything!! Well done for giving it a try! Good idea about knitting sleeves downwards - eliminates the horrible sewing-up bit - v.good!

Oooh I love the hat and the scarf, what a gorgeous shade of blue... I think the scarf would look better without a flower anyway, I think it would distract your attention away from the loverly hat flower. :0)

Good for you on shaping those shoulders! You'll love how it looks in the finished garment.

That hat is very sweet, and the shade of blue you chose is perfect. Again, you know how to pick classy colors :-)

Where did you find the pattern for the knitted flower? If you made it up, would you mind giving me the pattern?
