Knitting, Knitters Everywhere

The start of a great weekend. After drooling over the Famille Phildar mag over at Smiling Tiger, I rushed to the post and was happy to find a package kissed with this lovely seal (there is just something about the words Canada Post).

You just know when you see this, it is going to be good and then I open to get this.

Yea, it has arrived. Gotta love Knit 'N' Tyme. At Smiling Tiger you have already seen the crème de la crème, but I have to share my favorite.

Then I get this reminder call that I have a finishing class Sat. morning at Hunt Country Yarns. Good thing they called. I signed up ages ago. It was a great class and Bob is an exceptional teacher. And boy, considering that I have finished many garments and have even received previous instructions, it never fails that you can always learn more, more, more when it comes to knitting, specifically finishing.

Then of course I had to race over to Knit Happens for their Grand Opening which was FABULOUS. So if you aren't able get there for reasons of proximity. They ship! So just give them a call and from what I hear they are super fast.

Everyone was in that shop. It’s amazing what a great location, great products and fab owners can bring out of the DC Metro area. I saw knitters that I admire, friends I haven't seen for a bit and met lots of new hip knitters. It was truly a great big party. In my haste to get to my class and then race to the Grand Opening, I somehow left my list of yarn requirements and mags with post-its so I could stay focused on the summer knitting plan. And let me tell you, I am a wreck without my list. So, I will definitely have to go back. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can get my first pick on colors. One thing I have my eye on is a cardigan in Rowan Cotton Braid Collection. Has anyone worked with that and have any comments? It looks so interesting. I am leaning toward the sea blue. Here are my latest pickups from Knit Happens here and here. They have a lot of interesting notions and bags, etc. that you just don't see anywhere else.

After all the hoopla, I was inspired to give a few projects some knittin' time, but then the weather took me out to the mall area for a little soccer, baseball, ring tossing, kite flying and National Cherry Blossom Festival (whoops, not knitting related).

And finally this morning I get up way to early as my mini has an early morning wakeup. And I see THIS.

Kerrie has designed another fab tank and Brooke is gorgeous as usual. Now, just as I was lovin' the Mission Falls Reversible Tank, Kerrie goes and tops herself with the Exotic Tank.
