Crochet Hearts & Ties

I am working on my first attempt at a crochet pattern. It is a great pattern that I found on midnight knitter's blog. It's the crochet heart garland. I was trying on scrap yarn first, but I am so pleased with the outcome that I think I am going to use varying colors to make my daughter a necklace. Mine are not nearly as cute as midnight knitters, but I think they are pretty good for a first attempt.

You can check out the pattern at Midnight Knitter's blog.

Click on the archive for week of Feb 09.

I was also inspired to do crochet ties for the Rowan Bigger Picture Gwen sweater. I originally worked and i-cord tie, but it was very chunky. I think they turned out much better than the big bulky i-cord. I just never imagined that a single row of crochet could be strong enough to use as a tie.

I can't wait to try some crochet flower patterns.

And many, many thanks to Kelly who helped me learn to crochet!

Those little crochet hearts are so cute, I tried to make few, but let's just say it is very appropriate that I am at a blog with Frog in the title. Congrats on starting up your blog. This is the first time I've been here and I love it. You have made so many cool things. I love that crossover purse and that hat. I am going to add your name to the Spring Knit-Up today. I am also going to steal your button for my site. I'm excited to add you to my daily reads.
